This Mahakali Puja is an exceptional occasion to mark the centenary year of the birth of Our Divine Mother Her Holiness Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi on the African continent in union with the entire International Sangha Sahaj thus honouring her extraordinary life and unwavering devotion to spread the message of divine love to this earth through self-realization and an opportunity for us to offer worthy reverence in his Honor for total Emancipation of the whole world accompanied by Profound and Eternal Peace.

More About Porto Novo - BENIN
Firstly, the Republic of Benin is located in West Africa in the Gulf of Guinea.
It has an area of 114,763 km2 with approximately 13,000,000 inhabitants.
Porto-Novo, (Portuguese for New Port), is a port city and the capital of Benin. The commune covers an area of 110 square kilometres and as of 2002 had a population of 223,552 people.
French is the country's official language, while Fon, Yom and Yoruba have the status of national languages.

Porto Novo is known for colonial buildings like the Brazilian-style Great Mosque, formerly a church. The Ethnographic Museum displays ceremonial masks, musical instruments and costumes.
The city was originally developed as a port for the transatlantic slave trade led by the Portuguese Empire.
Porto Novo is Benin's second-largest city, and although it is the official capital, where the national legislature sits, the larger city of Cotonou is the seat of government, where most of the government buildings are situated and government departments operate.
